Ernie Halter Premieres Video for “Almost You”

Los Angeles (but soon to be Nashville!) musician Ernie Halter took to the Internet today to premiere the official video for Franklin & Vermont‘s “Almost You.”

Directed by Vid Arroyo and filmed in New York, the video follows two disconnected exes missing and chasing each other across the city. Bonus points if you can catch the cameo by the director.

With a few campus shows left before 2012, Ernie may be playing a live show near you. Check the dates here.

Will Hoge Premieres Video For “When I Get My Wings”

Will Hoge debuted the video for his first single from forthcoming album, Number Seven, today over on CMT.com. “When I Get My Wings” was inspired by an obituary Hoge read in the Tennessean and follows the birth of a relationship and the effects of losing a spouse 50 years later. The video is heartbreaking and dangerous to watch in a room full of people– unless you’re comfortable with weeping in public.

Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside Premiere Video For “Cage”

As a fan of vintage marionettes and the daughter of a puppeteer, the concept of Sallie Ford’s newest music video seems like a natural fit for the Portlander and her band, better known as Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside.

The newly-released video for “Cage” was created by Sallie’s father, Hobey Ford, and shot by Shane Peters against a blue screen. Like the band itself, the final result is quirky, unique, and oddly infectious.

You can catch Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside at Bumbershoot in Seattle on September 5th and at Musicfest NW in Portland on September 9th.

Toro Y Moi Premieres Video For “Still Sound”

When Toro Y Moi signed to Carpark Records, there was talk of two albums for release in 2010: one with electronic sounds and one with live instrumentation. Whatever. We don’t hold grudges. The upcoming album, Underneath The Pine, releases February 22nd and gives us that live part of Toro Y Moi we were deprived of.

The video for “Still Sound” was shot and cut by Steve Daniels on Super 8mm film. This isn’t your hipster’s iPhone. It’s the real deal:

Ra Ra Riot Debut Video For “Boy”

New York’s Ra Ra Riot are getting ready for the release of their upcoming album The Orchard. The album is set to release on August 24th and in support of it, the band are going on an extensive tour starting in Brooklyn on the day of its release.

The first single off the album is “Boy” and the band are debuting the video for it today. During video production, lighting assistants are ironically left in the dark. Ra Ra Riot turned the tables and shed some light on these hard workers and gave them an active role in the “Boy” video. They also put all the stray cats in your neighborhood to use:

The Dead Weather Premiere Video for “Die By the Drop”

Back with another typically cinematic video, modern day supergroup, The Dead Weather, have premiered their new music video for “Die By the Drop,” from their forthcoming second release, Sea of Cowards. Directed by Floria Sigismondi, “Die By the Drop” is dark and a little sinister and kinda creepy — but still so great, in true The Dead Weather form.

Sea of Cowards will be released on May 11th, via Third Man Records, but tour dates are out now:

Butch Walker Premieres Video for “Pretty Melody”

In his new video, Butch Walker plays a half-robot superhero ninja who is on a journey to save the day. The kung fu epic is directed by Shane Valdés and pits Walker against Panic! At the Disco’s Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith, who play his ninja nemeses in the video — which is weird because Butch American Psycho-ed Brendon Urie back in February.

“Pretty Melody” is the second single from I Liked It Better When You Had No Heart and one of the strongest songs from the record. Enjoy the video below:

MGMT Debut Video For “Flash Delirium”

It’s no real secret that MGMT’s upcoming album, Congratulations, has leaked. Very early. The band members are aware of this, so MGMT are congratulating (no pun intended) those of you who have been patient by allowing a free and early stream of the entire album on their website. Congratulations comes out April 13th, so don’t go searching for those illegal downloads just yet!

In the meantime, MGMT just debuted a new video for “Flash Delirium,” directed by Andreas Nilsson. The video starts off with an uncomfortable vibe and ends with a WTF?! moment. If you were wondering where the electric eel from “Electric Feel” escaped to, look no further!
