Band of Horses Release “Laredo” from Infinite Arms

South Carolina transplants (via Seattle) Band of Horses will release their third studio LP, Infinite Arms, through Columbia, Fat Possum and Brown Records on May 18th. But for those of you who simply cannot wait, the album’s third track, “Laredo,” has been released and is streaming on the band’s official website as well as right here:

Based on that picture and the Wikipedia disambiguation, Laredo could refer to any number of cow-wrangling towns. The song is nice, though, so the details probably don’t matter.

Bobby Long Plays NPR, Releases “My Darling Bell”

Bobby Long‘s fanbase is vast and eclectic, to say the least. From Twilight fans (who, to be fair, are the ones who pushed his name to the forefront while everyone was sleeping on the name Bobby Long) to indie folk heads, the gravel-voiced singer/songwriter has made a name for himself amongst genuine music fans alike. Finally getting some of the attention and credibility he deserves, Long will be featured on NPR’s World Café national broadcast on April 27th.

As of yesterday, new song “My Darling Bell” became available for download from digital outlets such as iTunes and Amazon. Prior to this release, the track had been featured only on the live collection of highlights from Long’s recent Dangerous Summer tour, which was available exclusively at live shows.

Bobby Long’s debut studio album is nearing completion and a release date has yet to be announced.

the bird and the bee aren’t releasing their Hall & Oates tribute album, Interpreting The Masters Volume 1: A Tribute To Daryl Hall And John Oates, until March 23rd, but if you’ve got time and are into the idea of doing some site hopping, you can hear all nine of the tracks from the album right now.

Premiered over the span of nine different websites, eight Hall & Oates covers and one original song, “Heard It On the Radio,” can be previewed from a wide array of websites, from Brooklyn Vegan to Perez Hilton. (Opposites!) It even gives you a reason to maybe log back into your MySpace account again! Who knows?

You can find all nine tracks on the websites listed below. (But remember, if you can’t get enough of that “Maneater” cover, your browser history may paint a very false and possibly even unsavory picture of you, so get the latest info on Robsten and then clear that browser history!)

Yeasayer Hold Odd Blood Listening Parties This Weekend

Though Odd Blood is set for a February 9th release date, Yeasayer are giving you a chance to hear the band’s second studio album at your favorite local record store this weekend. In select cities throughout the U.S., independent record stores are holding listening parties for Odd Blood, also allowing fans to pick up vinyl copies of the album weeks before it hits store shelves. (P.S. We understand that you were excited, but the vinyl is gonna sound a whole lot better than the torrent file does).

Odd Blood is great (“Ambling Alp!” “I Remember!”), so we will see you at the Portland party. Here are the dates for the other cities:

Butch Walker Announces Tour with Train, Offers New Music

Butch Walker took to his MySpace blog to announce that he will spend March and April as the opening act for the band Train. Your thoughts about Train aside, this gives Butch a chance to actually end up in a city near you, and that is good news!

William Fitzsimmons’ “Covered In Snow” Available For Download

Just in time for the holiday season, William Fitzsimmons has made his holiday song, “Covered In Snow,” available for download for the first time. Previously available only on his MySpace page, the song discusses his memory of the year his father left home during the Christmas season. Though it’s not necessarily the same Christmas music you’re going to be forced to endure while visiting your local strip mall Santa, “Covered In Snow” offers a different perspective of the season as well as an honesty not generally recognized in our most familiar carols. Fitzsimmons says he wrote the song “with the hope of mending the memories of the holiday and restoring [his] faith in the season.”

“Covered In Snow” is still streaming on William Fitzsimmons’ MySpace Page and can be purchased on iTunes. (UK residents: The track will be available on iTunes during only the month of December, so act fast!)

The video for the song was filmed in Brussels and is set to be released on his website within the next few days.

Ernie Halter Debuts New Song, “Come Home To Me”

To celebrate the spirit of giving and the of general holiday season, Ernie Halter has uploaded a brand new song to his famed YouTube channel. Written with Lisa Goe a week before Thanksgiving and released on Thanksgiving Eve, “Come Home To Me” discusses the emptiness that is felt in your heart and in your bed when your preferred loved one is somewhere other than where you are. So if your girlfriend lives across the country or across town, this leaves you guys just enough time to dust off your ukuleles and learn a new Christmastime panty dropper. For the ladies. (Holiday spirit!)

We have expressed shameless giddiness in anticipation of the release of fun.’s debut album, Aim & Ignite, and even pressed Andrew Dost for a few details about it all back in June. With only two weeks until the album’s official release, fun. have taken to their MySpace page to stream all ten tracks from Aim & Ignite.

Appropriately, Aim & Ignite spotlights fun.’s ability to create fun, upbeat music. With a penchant for crescendos and fanfare, it is full of fireworks (no pun, ha) and vitality. Though equally as lighthearted, fans of The Format will find Nate Ruess’s lyrics to be antipodal from those heard on his former band’s second and last album, Dog Problems.

Will Hoge Offers Preview for New Album, The Wreckage

At the stroke of midnight on Tuesday morning, Will Hoge premiered the opening track from his new album, The Wreckage, to the world via his MySpace page. Titled “Hard To Love,” the track’s name may be a bit misleading, as Will called the song “my favorite opening track on any album we’ve done.”

For the next 11 weeks, each of the 11 tracks from The Wreckage will continue to be premiered on Will’s MySpace page, giving fans access to the album, one piece at a time. Each song will be available for seven days before it is taken down and a new one is posted in its place.

If you simply cannot wait until the next song is posted, just play this on repeat until further notice:

Beginning yesterday and continuing over the next six days, you can stream Angel Deradoorian’s The Mind Raft EP on the Deradoorian Muxtape page.

The Mind Raft marks Angel Deradoorian’s debut as a solo artist. Despite the recent influx of attention regarding her day job as a Dirty Projector (and the upcoming release of their album, Bitte Orca, which is so so extraordinary), Angel has managed to find time to step away from the group to create this five track EP.
