BRAIDS To Play CMJ And Prep For Native Speaker`s 2011 Release

Instead of moving to separate parts of the country, getting drunk and losing contact with one another, these four friends created their own university after high school in the form of the band BRAIDS.

As an emerging indie band, BRAIDS have a lot of competition in front of them but are already ahead of the game, seeing how they’ve been added to this year’s CMJ lineup and have also been signed to Kanine Records, the label which will be releasing their upcoming album, Native Speaker.

The album is set to release January 18, 2011 and is being entirely self-produced and self-recorded by the band. For about two years, BRAIDS have been diligently working on creating a solid and constructed ambient pop sound full of layers for Native Speaker. Their tracks are generally pretty lengthy, hitting some seven and nine minute marks, leaving you hearing an array of textured sound.
