Parachute, Phil Bensen, and Jesse Ruben Play Knitting Factory

Pop rock and acoustic soul joined forces when Parachute, Jesse Ruben and Phil Bensen played New York City’s Knitting Factory on May 30. Boston-based singer-songwriter Ruben and Jersey-bred crooner Bensen warmed up the crowd with smooth sets that melted every heart in the room. Parachute gave it everything they got. Extra props go to sax and keys player Kit French and lead guitarist Nate McFarland for backing up lead singer Will Anderson, who still performed with a pair of strained vocal chords. Fans showed their support by joining the band’s performance of their current single, “She is Love.”
