Metric Play the Crystal Ballroom in Portland

Metric brought their hot and sweaty pop-rock show to the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon and subjected lead singer Emily Haines to much ogling and gawking from a diverse crowd made up of hipsters, rockers, men, women and everyone who loves Emily Haines (which is all of us). She returned the ardor by calling the audience by pet names all night, indulging fantasies throughout the room.
The Canadian four piece played a high-energy show, making sure to include a cover by Neil Young as well as staple fist-pump-friendly anthem, “Fight For Your Right.” Of Neil Young, Emily asked the room, “Where would we be without Neil Young?” Kinda like she does in this video — but different:
Metric did a first-rate job of turning their dance party into a legitimate rock show, at the end of which Haines stated, “Life’s a trip — I think we’re all trippin’ right now!”
Indeed, Emily Haines. And we get the feeling that everyone is on board when it comes to drinking your Kool-Aid.
