Val Emmich, The Soloist

Val Emmich and His Web Series

Val Emmich isn’t ugly. Let’s just get that out of the way. If you prefer your rock stars dreamy, then consider this a win for you.

For the past month, Val Emmich has been getting creative with the Internet promotion of his upcoming album, Little Daggers. Every Tuesday and Thursday, a two (or so) minute video previewing a new song from the new album is uploaded to his MySpace page. Some episodes of the ten-part miniseries show Val in the studio with members of his band and some chronicle a day in the life of Val and his monkey. (You heard me). All of them are entertaining.

If you’d like to watch the miniseries in its entirety (and doing so is highly advisable), visit http://www.youtube.com/valemmich or http://www.myspace.com/valemmich.
Little Daggers will be released on September 23rd.

The Soloist Trailer.

Now that the release date for the movie about the boy wizard we all know and love has been pushed way, way back into 2009, November 21st has never seemed like a more appropriate day to go see a Robert Downey Jr. movie.

Based on the true story of Nathaniel Ayers, a former Juliard student-turned-Skid Row resident, The Soloist is a movie based around the idea that sometimes music is the one final thread binding us to sanity.

I get that.
(Also, a friend of mine worked on the movie and that is exciting.)
The Soloist. November 21st. Be there.
