Meat Loaf. (Yep. Meat Loaf.)

Some songs are more than just a few notes and chords.
We remember this every time we’re in love, every time we get dumped, and every time we feel inspired to post the lyrics of a song as our new MySpace headlines. (Whether you’ve acted on it or not, don’t judge. You’ve been there.)

Some songs represent the bookmarks of our lives. They speak to us when we can’t speak for ourselves, and sometimes they say the things we’re not eloquent enough to express without a little help.

This is where we expose your secrets.

If you’re feeling brave and the exhibitionist in you is feeling a little stifled, send your songs and stories to us at editor@audioholicmedia.com. We will post them here. For the world to see.

“I Would Do Anything For Love” by Meat Loaf.

This song will out me right now. I’m a closet Meat Loaf fan. Or, I should say I am a Jim Steinman / Meat Loaf fan. Together they made music that still makes me roll up the windows and perform stage in the middle of the freeway. I was a sophomore in high school when I heard this song on the radio. Like every 15 year old male, I was pining after a beautiful girl who made me want to perform rock opera for her. Years later I can listen to this song and remember every thought and feeling and note and pitch of her. That is my moment of truth.
