Robert Schwartzman Officially Debuts SOLOBOB Solo Project

Rooney frontman, Robert Schwartzman, has begun to breathe life into his long-running solo project. Under the moniker SOLOBOB, Schwartzman has tapped into the archetypal, awkward slickness of the ’80s, turning the acid wash and tapered jeans into fur coats and tailored suits. With no shortage of synth, blips, bloops and neon laser lights, SOLOBOB’s first video is for his song, “The Victim,” and it reminds us of all the things our generation will one day be forced to answer to our children about.

For the price of your email address, the SOLOBOB website is giving away the mp3 of “The Victim” for free. In the coming weeks, SOLOBOB will release more songs as well as the videos to accompany them. Tentatively, “Funny Money” is the next scheduled video release, but per Schwartzman, “It’s going to require lots of animation, so it may take a little while to get it finished.”

If the anticipation is killing you, you can also catch (un)SOLOBOB in Rooney form via the band’s new release Wild One, available exclusively at their live shows.
