Editor’s Note: The First Installment of Audioholic Media

the south deserves a lot of credit.

mainly, because it results in me: a red-bull advocate, cross-country driving, inspired, and witty individual, who seems to, more or less (love commas and) work well with my partner in crime (brianne turner), and continues to “get [things] done.”

i’m all about this. this is what i love.
music. and. writing.

you can’t put much more of an emphasis on “writing” if you tried. try me.

getting the good word out about good music seems like a dying cause lately.
i should just be submitting pretentious information about global care and voting just to get your attention, but i won’t. because those are important issues, just like these are important topics.

and you should be listening.

the concept here is all about making your favorite artist heard. i’m not talking about your favorite artist’s addiction or new shady joint they like to hang out at. i’m talking: why they need to be famous.

why you (may or may have not) cried yourself to sleep because they were that good.

so, take a step in this new direction. read about what you’re interested in and read about it by someone who loves to write about it more than your love to read about it.

this is something that will potentially change views on music. this is something that is done with a duo.
this is something your mom told you about.

do what your mom says.

read that.

until next time

I’m interested in hiring an intern or personal assistant, if you know anyone. I will pay him in hugs. Transcribing interviews is a time-consuming process and, to be honest, I don’t like listening to my voice. I think I sound like a man, though I’m sure that has nothing to do with me and can be blamed entirely on my digital recorder. Interesting that everyone else’s voices sound fine… but that’s neither here nor there.

I transcribed the entire interview with The Crash Engine myself. Every word. Even the large chunks of our interview that I later edited out. I know how long it is, and I know that it looks like a lot to take on in one sitting. But I encourage triple dog dare you to try. It’s all relevant and I am truly honored to have been able to sit down with Alex, Dana, and Tom to talk music with them. These guys are on the verge of something big and there will be a time very, very soon when Audioholic Media will get to look at other, bigger music magazines and act like five-year-olds because we got to interview The Crash Engine before they did.

We aren’t big-time enough to offer a competitive summer internship, but I’m really, really proud of what we’re doing. Reading through the (behemoth) interview with The Crash Engine only helps to amplify that feeling for me.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out our first issue. It means a lot.
A lot, a lot.

xoxo,
Brianne Turner
