Coconut Records Encourage You To Steal For Charity and Bloc Party Frighten Children

It’s been quiet here lately. Of the many things I could blame for this, I’ll sum it up with two facts:
a) it’s the holidays, and
b) I’ve been lazy.

However, to negate (even if only somewhat) the two reasons we’ve been lame lately, I will give you two things to be excited about:
a) Jason Schwartzman is encouraging you to steal. In the name of charity.

For every (truly, honestly, no strings attached) free download of the new Coconut Records song, “Microphone”, over at Amie Street, $1 will be donated to The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation.

There are a lot of links there. Though all very relevant, the free music can be found here: http://amiestreet.com/music/coconut-records/microphone.

It takes only four seconds to sign up if you type fast.
Free music! Money for charity! Coconut Records! All of these things are awesome. If anyone loses, it’s certainly not you. Or me.

You can also pre-order the entire album, Davy, for only $5(!!!).
The offer expires December 23rd, so get to gettin’.

b) Bloc Party bring out the inner child in us all.

Bloc Party – One Month Off

The band have released the video for their new single, “One Month Off.”
The video turns most of our favorite nursery rhymes into mini modernized nightmares.
Sorry about your luck, Rapunzel.

Lots of end-of-the-year countdown lists are finding their way onto the Internets.
… ‘Tis the season.
Chances are high that one of those will show up here (in this general vacinity) as well before 2009.
No one here is pretentious enough to tell you what was cool this year (and why you suck for not agreeing), but we know that some of you will be receiving some iTunes gift cards before the year ends. And if you need any friendly suggestions regarding any music 2008 had to offer, we’d be glad to help you out. And we’re kicking it all off with “Microphone” by Coconut Records.

As always, thank you for stopping by.
Thank you for remaining patient.
We love you.

xoxo,
Brianne Turner.
