Motion City Soundtrack Reveal New Single From My Dinosaur Life

We mentioned an ominous counter on Motion City Soundtrack‘s website last week. The countdown is over and we now know exactly why it was there in the first place. Was it worth the wait?

If you’ve visited the band’s website then you’ll know that My Dinosaur Life is the official name for their upcoming album. You’ll also hear what the band has been working so diligently on over the last two years. “Disappear” is the first single from the new album and available on iTunes today.

It’s not my job to tell you whether or not to love or hate something. We leave that to the guys with rating systems. Although, what I will tell you is that if you’ve been a fan of Motion City Soundtrack, you might have a very strong opinion on what you’re about to hear.

The band recruited Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 to produce this new album. My opinion is that Mark Hoppus should stick to songs about pooping and skateboards. My hope is that “Disappear” doesn’t reflect the new Motion City Soundtrack album as a whole and that the lighthearted carefree tunes that the band are known for haven’t morphed into a depressing old fart… like Mark Hoppus.
