Mayer Hawthorne Premieres Video for “I Wish It Would Rain”

Mayer Hawthorne is sad, and in an attempt to hide his subsequent tear drops, he has employed the use of a gloomy cloud to follow him around and rain on his face so you don’t see the tears in his eyes. Though the excuse is equal parts sally and sensitive, Mayer Hawthorne’s video for the track “I Wish It Would Rain” is shot entirely in slow motion as it follows the melancholy singer/DJ/producer/songwriter as he (and his rain cloud) wanders a suburban jungle, enveloped in a cloak of malaise and sorrow.
:(
If the slow motion and rain clouds aren’t necessarily your style, songs like “Your Easy Lovin’ Ain’t Pleasin’ Nothin’” represent a much more cheerful side of Mayer Hawthorne’s musical scope. Something for everybody!
Mayer Hawthorne will also be taking to the road with Passion Pit at the end of this month.
