Introducing: The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart
It’s good when pop music is done in ways other than meaningless lyrics, standard beats, and the occasional D.U.I. It’s good when pop music can live up to its name every now and then and prove to the general public that “pop music” isn’t a bad word. I mean, if you’re that pretentious boob in the corner, then yes, it might be a bad word.
Meet Alex, Kip, Kurt, and Peggy, because they are four individuals that you will be seeing a lot of in the near future. The Pains of Being Pure At Heart are a noisy pop band that remind you of indie rock without reminding you of indie rock. They’re the band which remind you of 80′s and 90′s pop, but again, without reminding you of ’80s and ’90s pop. They’re the band who are trying to redefine this crowded genre that we are all too familiar with, and they’re a band who seem to be on the right track of doing so.
If you’re not going to take my word on this, then at least make your own decision and forget about that pretentious boob still hanging out in the corner. He’s twirling the mustache he’s trying to grow in.
