Free Music: Wheat, Loney Dear, The Phenomenal Handclap Band

Wheat: A duo from Massachusetts who will be releasing their newest album, White Ink, Black Ink on July 21st.

Preview: “H.O.T.T.”
First Impression: Pop-based, melody-driven upbeat song with a fun case of teenage-style self-doubt.
Listen To: When you’re in the midst of trying to stave off a case of the Mondays.
»Save It: “H.O.T.T.”

Loney Dear: Formerly “Loney, Dear” (but now sans punctuation), Loney Dear is the name of Emil Svanängen’s mostly one-man band. In early 2009 Loney Dear released his latest album, Dear John, via Polyvinyl Record Co.

Preview: “Airport Surroundings”
First Impression: Fast-paced track with anxious and haunting undertones.
Listen To: At night. When you’re feeling dangerous.
»Save It: “Airport Surroundings”

The Phenomenal Handclap Band: An eight-member band with their own breed of spunk. This band kind of overwhelms your senses; they aren’t so much a techno or funk band as they are a delirious arrangement of vocals and instruments.

Preview: “15 To 20″
First Impression: An electric track which mixes an array of sounds and even a little bit of rap (or just faster-than-normal speech).
Listen To: While you’re reciting multiplication tables, duh.
»Save It: “15 To 20″
