Find Of the Week: Self’s Free Music Archive
Though the band Self/Matt Mahaffey has spent the past few years laying a bit low (for the most part), he hasn’t left you without an arsenal of free music.
The official website offers a plethora of music from Self, from b-sides, to live bootlegs, to the Expedia.com jingle (written by the band). Though many b-sides from Self’s studio albums are made available, tracks from Gizmodgery are unfortunately absent from the website’s Downloads section. If you want to get down to something that makes you feel like you’re in elementary school again (in a good way), definitely listen to Pattycake, from Gizmodgery; the entire album was recorded using only children’s toys.
