Citizen Cope To Release The Rainwater LP on RainWater Recordings
After a four-year hiatus since the release of his last self-produced album, Every Waking Moment, Clarence Greenwood (best known to the music world as Citizen Cope) has announced that he will release his newest album, The Rainwater LP on March 2nd.
The Rainwater LP was produced by Greenwood and will mark the debut release from his new record label, RainWater Recordings, Inc. After having parted ways with RCA Records in early 2008, Citizen Cope decided to circumvent the general rigmarole for a more independent approach.
“A lot of labels wanted to put [the album] out, but I kept hearing things like ‘Retail’s gonna need you to do this’ or ‘The artwork has to be like this.’ I don’t want to be led into those confines anymore. I want to be able to do it my own way. Being able to operate efficiently, not having to move buildings to do anything, just seems so basic for any artistic endeavor.”
The Rainwater LP will be released digitally on February 9th, one week after the beginning of his nationwide tour:
