Behind the Scenes of Jamie Lidell’s Compass
After spending the past two years touring extensively and having his music featured on primetime television, beatboxing soul singer Jamie Lidell called upon the likes of Beck, Chris Taylor (Grizzly Bear) and Feist for help on his upcoming LP, Compass. Recorded in Los Angeles, New York and Canada, Lidell created a video diary to document the recording process of his first release since 2008′s JIM. In the video he discusses his emotional trials of the past two years, how Veckatimest inspired him to work with Chris Taylor, and the scenic beauty of the wilderness surrounding Feist’s recording studio.

Jamie Lidell will play New York’s Bowery Ballroom on April 27th and the Troubadour in L.A. before flying back to Europe for a few shows throughout the month of May.
Compass will be released May 20th via Warp Records.
